Sofa Hotel is a beautifully restored historic mansion designed for our guests who wish to experience a different way of living.

Each room is different with a special colour touch and a cosy atmosphere. They all are equipped with modern comfort and central heating and especially beautiful architecture and design.

These exceptional cave houses are renovated and decorated with care in their own distinct style strictly respecting the local character of Cappadocian houses.

Our Sofa hotel is in Avanos, Cappadocia. It's a conglomerate of 15 old houses - opened to one another and restored in the old style - with arcs, tufa stones, many stairs and decorated with local handicraft products like halı and kilims. It has rooms with a capacity of beds - all equipped with shower, toilet and hot water. The typical architecture with local stones keeps the hotel warm in winter and cool in summer in a natural way.

The hotel is in the center of Avanos near the stone bridge over the Kızılırmak river - you can easily go shopping or have dinner at a restaurant.

The Cappadocian region is the place where nature and history come together most beautifully within the world. While geographic events are forming fairy chimneys during the historical period, humans had carried the signs of thousand years old civilizations with carving houses and churches within these earth pillars and decorating them with fresks.

The staff was so friendly and fun that we never left in the evenings so we could enjoy dinner with the guests. The food was excellent. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

Avanos is a great base for exploring Cappadocia. It gave us the flexibility to take daily hikes and trekking to almost anywhere in the region. Sofa Hotel provided us with a wonderful guide, Ibrahim, who quickly became our friend, making the experience even more memorable.
